SODESUKA is pleased to announce a new photo exhibition at Shibuya Space, this time dedicated to yatto.
Even though his first steps in life and teenage years were most likely immortalized during the film era, yatto started his own photographic work much later, enticed by the digital sirens’ songs of the third millennium. Nevertheless, his inspiration remains essentially attached to the good old black & white street photography, may it be from masters of the genre or not (yet?) famous artists.
As the premiere of yatto’s art on actual walls, this first selection focuses on his main playground, Japan, spiced up with a little touch of France and Canada, and offers to see sometimes well-known places but always with a little twist, in compositions full of contrast and out of the ordinary.

yattoのよちよち歩きから青年期にかけては、フィルムの全盛期でしたが、彼が写真を撮り始めたのは、それから遥か後、デジタル化のセイレーンに魅せられた第三の千年紀でした。それでも、彼のインスピレーションは基本的に名だたる巨匠やいつか有名になるかな…のアーティストの古典的な白黒のストリートフォトグラフィというジャンルに深く根付いています。
yattoのアートが実際の壁に初登場するとして、この最初のコレクションは彼の主要なプレイグラウンドである日本に集中し、少しフランスとカナダを添え、時折よく知られた場所を魅力的な構図、コントラストやユーモアのある新たな視点で見せてくれます。

SODESUKA a le plaisir d’annoncer une nouvelle exposition dans les locaux de Shibuya Space, cette fois dédiée à yatto.
Bien que ses premiers pas dans la vie ainsi que ses jeunes années aient principalement été immortalisés durant le règne de la pellicule, yatto n’a lui-même débuté son oeuvre de photographe que bien plus tard, attiré par le chant des sirènes du numérique au troisième millénaire. Néanmoins, son inspiration reste essentiellement attachée au bon vieux style noir et blanc de la photographie de rue, que ce soit par des maîtres du genre ou des artistes pas (encore ?) connus.
Pour son grand début sur de vrais murs, cette première sélection des oeuvres de yatto se concentre sur son terrain de jeu principal, le Japon, assorti d’un peu de France et de Canada, et offre à voir des lieux parfois bien connus mais toujours sous un regard différent, dans des compositions contrastées et insolites.
N’hésitez pas à passer par Shibuya pour profiter de l’exposition et peut-être trouver la prochaine oeuvre d’art à accrocher à vos murs. Des tirages en édition limitée sont disponibles exclusivement sur la boutique de SODESUKA.
